Hi, it's Rachel. Thanks everyone for all the sweet comments. I'm feeling pretty good this evening, and Hazel is being her sweet self.
A few people have asked about the picture of the people in the scrubs (the one that Rion posted on Wednesday). The man on the left is Doctor Hiuga, the doctor who delivered Hazel. The woman on the right is our doula, Consie. (A doula is a childbirth support person. She was extremely helpful to us.) Consie is from Ireland, and Dr. Hiuga is married to an Irish woman. He is also very outgoing and friendly (some might say flirty, but not in a creepy way...). He and Consie had never met before, but by the end of the day, they were like best buddies. Especially because Dr. Hiuga left last night for a vacation to Ireland. Needless to say, they had a lot to talk about.
Right before Rion took the picture, Dr. Hiuga said "Hold on, I should go stand by my Irish lass," and ran over to stand with Consie. That is why Consie is laughing in that girlish way.

Glad to hear you're feeling so much better :) Have a great weekend, and a great homecoming. I look forward to hearing how the two kitties react to Hazel.
Pearl will be thrilled with Hazel's Irish connection. It probably made those long hours of labor easier to have 2 professionals with such good humor-- Take care and all my love to you, Rion and the wee babe.
She is just adorable! I love all that dark hair and puggy arms. It just makes me want to hug & kiss her.
